Breanne Mode - Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Balanced Business

In this episode of the Road To Growth podcast, we are pleased to introduce you to Breanne Mode. Breanne is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Balanced Business. She has over 13 years of experience in the accounting industry and got her start in Denver, Colorado. After graduating from the University of Denver with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, Breanne began working as an auditor with a local accounting firm where her client base consisted of non-profit organizations and foundations, manufacturing businesses, hotels, and retailers to name a few.
 
After several years working in Denver, she moved back to San Diego and transferred to the local office for BDO USA, LLP. BDO USA, LLP is the 5th largest accounting firm worldwide. While there, Breanne planned and oversaw the audits for clients in industries comprising financial services, clinical research, manufacturing, and fitness clubs. Her clients ranged in size from small private companies with $5 million in revenues to large private companies with revenues in excess of $100 million. 
 
After over 5 years in public accounting, Breanne decided to move into private industry. She worked for Rady Children's Hospital before becoming the Controller for a real estate developer located in downtown San Diego. It was from there that she decided it was time to pursue her dream of owning her own business and utilizing her skills to help those who would benefit the most: other small business owners. And in 2015, Balanced Business LLC was officially launched!
 
Having lived in San Diego for many years, Breanne is deeply engrained in the San Diego business community. She is an Executive Board Member of the Clairemont Town Council, Treasurer for Make a Wish San Diego's Emerging Leaders Council and was recently appointed by the Mayor of San Diego as a Commissioner on the City of San Diego's Human Relations Commission.

Melanie Malone - Board-Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon

Dr. Malone is Board Certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.  She is one of a small group of surgeons that has achieved Dual Board Certification in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well as Head and Neck Surgery, with her subspecialized practice limited exclusively to the treatment of the face and neck.  
She is both a Fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a remarkable distinction bestowed upon an elite subset of surgeons based on their exceptional training, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and ethical conduct. 
Dr. Malone’s subspecialty training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery grant her a unique expertise of the anatomy of the face and neck, the changes that occur in our skin muscles and deeper tissues with aging, and the surgical techniques for the most natural rejuvenation treatments.  She is a subspecialist, limiting her practice only to surgery of the face. 
Publications and Presentations
            Dr. Malone is an accomplished author on facial rejuvenation, with a comprehensive body of original research that has been published in the medical literature. Her research has garnered awards at national meetings.  Her areas of interest in research are related to facelift, eyelid lifts or blepharoplasty, and rhinoplasty or nasal shaping surgeries.   Her research has been published in many of the most prestigious and well-respected peer reviewed journals and textbooks, including the authoritative Aesthetic Surgery Journal, JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery, and Facial Plastic Surgery.
 
Philanthropy
            Philanthropy is a cornerstone of Dr. Malone’s practice.  Throughout her career she has been a diligent servant to the FACE TO FACE national project, she is a volunteer plastic surgeon providing pro bono consultation and reconstructive surgery to victims of domestic violence.  She is also a volunteer plastic surgeon for “Healing the Children,” and travels on international medical missions annually to provide pro bono reconstructive surgeries to children born with cleft lips, cleft palates, and congenital ear defects. 
 

Ivan Rimanic - Co - Owner of De Bartolo Rimanic Design Studio

In this episode of the Road To Growth podcast, we are pleased to introduce you to Ivan Rimanic one of the owners of DBRDS. DBRDS is basically Pauly De Bartolo and Ivan Rimanic, both Australians who both got their Bachelor of Architecture degrees at the University of New South Wales and University of Technology in Sydney. They first got to know each other back in 2003 in Sydney, Australia, where both Pauly and Ivan had worked for the same developer-based architectural firm in Sydney that specialized in modern dynamic architectural designs.
In 2006, Pauly was brought over to San Diego to work for Australian based development firm - Constellation Property Group. When CPG expanded into Austin, Tempe, Las Vegas, Ivan was asked to come to SD to work for CPG in 2007. CPG folded their US operations after the 2008 recession hit, so both Pauly and Ivan decided to remain in SD and start their own design practice.
Initially, they were called Funkitecture Studio (inspired by #RageAgainsttheMachine’s “Renegades of Funk”. However, that name didn’t go too well with the more “corporate” clients, so in 2011, they simply become who they always were - De Bartolo Rimanic Design Studio.
